Doggy Daystays

Daystays are recommended for all dogs planning to board, most importantly though is bringing puppies in as soon as possible. Puppies can start coming once their first series of vaccinations is complete and they are 6 months old.

• Available Monday to Friday, the dogs spend time with the kennel dogs playing, or lazing around. Quiet time between 11 & 2.
• Drop off between 7.30-10 AM & Pick up 3.30-5.30 PM
• $20 per day for Toy, small breeds 
• $25 for Medium, large breeds
• Kennel dogs and daystays all run together until the overnight pups go for breakfast and a nap.

Daycare is closed between the 18th December to 10th January Yearly

Socialising

Socialising your puppy/dog in a kennel or doggy daycare can be a great way to get started.

• Puppies are most receptive to new experiences between 4 and 17 weeks. This is the best time to expose them to as much as you safely can.
• Safety first, make sure they have a properly fitted collar or harness. If your dog can pull back and slip the collar it defeats it’s purpose.
• Visit the vet. this is a safe place for your puppy to meet people, go for a drive, jump on the scale and become familiar with the smell.
• Careful handling by lot’s of people can teach them to trust different people. Get them used to having their teeth looked at, nails clipped, paw pads looked at, ears looked in, being brushed; and anything else you can think of.
• Traveling in the car is something you can do with your pup from the day you bring them home. It exposes them so so many new sights, sounds, smells and is safe until their vaccinations are complete.

Human parents often worry about exposing their cute little fuzzy kids to adult dogs too soon. But waiting too long can be a problem, too, if the puppy is going to be part of a household with other dogs.

Some veterinarians will tell owners of young puppies to wait until they’ve had all their vaccines before they meet other dogs. This can take up to four months! Remember, months are years for dogs and you have up to 17 weeks to socialise your puppy. You wouldn’t wait until your kid had all his or her shots to let him play with other toddlers, right?

In order to have a normal, outgoing dog, let him play with the other dogs. Just make sure they have been vaccinated.

If there are other dogs in the household, make sure they are up to date on their vaccinations. This way, they can become safe playmates and guides for the youngster.

If your puppy is an “only dog child,” let him meet other vaccinated dogs who you know get along with other animals. They can meet in your home or the other dog’s home. Be aware that dogs can get territorial and you may need to rescue your little one. Your pup may instinctively roll on his back to let the other dog know he means no disrespect.

We now do pick up and drop your precious pooches if you are too busy to get out during our open hours. This is available Monday – Friday Pick ups not available for Daystays

This is done after our morning shift is finished, dogs we are known to can be picked up or dropped off to or picked up from a secure pre-arranged location in Rotorua. Please contact us to check we go to your area.

This is done between 10am and 2pm, Monday to Friday. Please have any medication, food or instructions clearly visible and labeled.
Pick up is not provided to pets we aren’t known too.
Bookings are essential.
